Statement

Czech Rectors Conference observes with concern the current media information suggesting
a possible personnel change in the post of the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports.

Representatives of Czech higher education institutions highly appreciate the existing cooperation and communication with the current Minister, Ing. Robert Plaga, Ph.D., as well as his energy, endeavour, and efforts to improve the quality of the Czech education system, including the area of higher education. Czech Rectors Conference perceives this communication by the Minister as helpful and with actual outputs compared to the previous years.

Czech Rectors Conference considers that the post of the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports must remain stable as frequent personnel changes in this post in the past have led to a decrease in the quality of education and, in particular, have harmed and impeded conceptual leadership.
