Resolution

170th Czech Rectors Conference Plenum Meeting

Ostrava, 13 April 2023 PDF

Czech Rectors Conference (CRC) Plenum adopted at its 170th Meeting the following resolution:

  1. CRC expresses ongoing concern about the current state of financing of Czech higher education. CRC is aware of the complex situation in dealing with public finances in the Czech Republic, but at the same time it perceives tertiary education as a crucial factor for the future development of the Czech Republic, not only in connection with the growing demographic curve of the population. CRC recalls the long-standing appeal to strengthen the medium-term outlook for funding of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). CRC is ready to cooperate with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports on strategic material leading to the strengthening of institutional financing of HEIs, including the prospect of autonomously implemented internal optimization of educational and creative activities.
  2. CRC establishes a working group for the social role of HEIs.
