Statement
of the Czech Rectors Conference Presidium on the support of students and employees of Charles University
Czech Rectors Conference (CRC) Presidium expresses its deep gratitude to those who have shown and continue to show support for the students and employees of Charles University, especially the Faculty of Arts of Charles University.
This support from the public, the experts, the Police of the Czech Republic and the political representation is necessary and of great importance in the difficult times we are going through. The tragic incident that recently took place at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University strongly affected not only our academic community, but also the entire society. The consequences of this incident on the psychological state and sense of safety of our students and staff are significant and will require the attention of all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
On 3 January 2024, CRC Presidium will discuss with the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, with the representatives of the Police of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of the Interior, in order to contribute to finding effective systemic measures that will help to increase security at HEIs and lead to the minimization of security risks.
