Czech Rectors Conference (CRC) Plenum adopted at its 185th Meeting the following resolution:
- Rectors of public Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) welcome the steps taken by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS) to reduce the administrative burden and to simplify the budgetary schemes for allocating funds from the state budget to individual HEIs. They view positively the fact that the funds from the abolished separate subsidy for the support of student meals are being incorporated into the general subsidy for educational activities.
- CRC discussed and published the response to the public debate on the future funding of public higher education. CRC has long been drawing attention to the underfunding of public HEIs (the full text is available on the CRC website).
- CRC will actively participate through its representatives in working groups in the discussion on the substantive intent of the new Higher Education Act and in the consideration of the wording of the new Government Regulation on Standards for Accreditation, which is being prepared by the MEYS.
- CRC welcomes the declared priority activity of the MEYS for 2026 in the field of student migration, which is expected to facilitate the visa policy for international study applicants in the Czech Republic.
- From 14 to 16 October 2026, the international Funding Forum conference of the European University Association (EUA) will take place at Brno University of Technology, which will focus on the funding of HEIs and European university alliances. The EUA hereby extends an invitation to representatives of Czech HEIs.
