Czech Rectors Conference (CRC) Plenum adopted at its 184th Meeting, CRC Annual Assembly, the following resolution:
- CRC set during its meeting its priorities for 2026 and 2027 in education, creative activities, funding and legislation. In the area of education, it will focus intensively on the efficiency of studies, the permeability of higher education, the internationalization and the provision of quality lifelong education. In cooperation with the Council of Higher Education Institutions, it will work with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS) on the preparation of the new Higher Education Act.
- CRC reiterates that the fundamental condition for fulfilling the educational and creative mission of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) is the establishment of pro-growth, medium-term funding of public HEIs and the increase in the institutional funding as an essential prerequisite for the effective management of HEIs. Public HEIs have responded in recent years to demographic trends and the requirements of the MEYS by increasing the number of students with the expectation of a corresponding budget increase in the medium-term horizon. Public HEIs face new legislative and societal demands that cannot be met under the current stagnant budget, which threatens their financial stability and competitiveness in the labor market in national and international contexts.
- CRC supports independent and predictable funding of public service media to ensure the quality of this public service. The educational and popularization roles of public service media are indispensable from the perspective of HEIs.
- CRC approved its Annual Report 2025, the financial review for 2025 and the budget for 2026.
