Czech Rectors Conference (CRC) Plenum adopted at its 183rd Meeting the following resolution:
- CRC thanked the outgoing Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Mikuláš Bek, and his team for their cooperation and constructive approach to resolving the issue of higher education.
- CRC approved an amendment to the CRC Statute that allows the number of members of CRC Presidium to be increased by one Vice-President, from the current five to six.
- CRC, as well as the President of the Czech Republic and the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, will submit to the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic proposals for candidates for the positions of the Defender of Children's Rights and the Public Defender of Rights for approval. CRC accepts an accelerated procedure for the selection of candidates and has agreed to publish a call for nominations on its website.
- Government Resolution No. 914/2025 of 19 November 2025 ordered the withdrawal of a significant portion of funds intended for the support of research, development and innovation from the budget chapters of all major providers of this support. CRC considers this step to be unfortunate and lacking strategic vision, negatively affecting future funding of the area of research, development and innovation.
- CRC asks the future government to take into account, to the maximum extent possible, the budget proposal submitted by the Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Council in June 2025 when compiling the budget for RDI, which would ensure the implementation of research, development and innovation activities to the necessary extent.
- CRC was informed by the Chairman of the National Accreditation Bureau for Higher Education, Jaroslav Miller, about the planned harmonization of programme and institutional accreditation standards with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) and about their planned structure.
- In a secret supplementary election, CRC elected a President and three Vice-Presidents to the vacant positions in CRC Presidium for the term of office beginning on 1 February 2026 and ending on 31 July 2027:
President
- Prof. Milan Pospíšil, Rector of the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague
Vice-Presidents
- Assoc. Prof. Ingeborg Radok Žádná, Rector of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague
- Assoc. Prof. Ladislav Janíček, Rector of Brno University of Technology
- Prof. Miroslav Lávička, Rector of the University of West Bohemia
8. CRC thanks its President, Milena Králíčková, for all her cooperation and appreciates her work on behalf of CRC and Czech higher education.
