Liberec, 3 October 2017 PDF

Czech Rectors Conference (CRC) Plenum adopted at its 142nd Meeting the following resolution:

  1. CRC appreciates the decision of the Government of the Czech Republic to increase the higher education institutions budget by 3 bill. CZK for the year 2018. CRC is convinced that the increased 2018 budget will be the basis for a further regular increase in higher education institutions funding.
  2. CRC supports events held by higher education institutions within The Week for Education. The aim of The Week for Education is to raise public awareness of the higher education institutions positive impact on educational society development as well as on competitiveness of the Czech Republic.
  3. CRC asks the Deputy Prime Minister for Science, Research and Innovation, Mr. Pavel Bělobrádek, to deal with the 2015 science evaluation (Hodnocení 2015) issue. CRC points to the unprofessional settlement of expert remarks on serious mistakes in “Hodnocení 2015”.
  4. CRC asks repeatedly the Deputy Prime Minister for Science, Research and Innovation, Mr. Pavel Bělobrádek, to finalize “Metodika 17+” for higher education institutions in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and CRC.
  5. CRC requests the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports to take into account the “teaching for secondary schools” study programmes framework correction proposal that has arisen from discussions among teacher education faculties representatives on October 2, 2017. CRC is convinced that any radical changes to professional teacher training requirements should be always preceded – in addition to expert debate – by proper discussion with higher education institutions representatives.
  6. CRC welcomes the French Rectors Conference (CPU) proposition for closer cooperation, especially the possibility to engage in upcoming EU projects.
  7. CRC will set up a working group to deal with the potential issue of students in current fields of study with terminating accreditation.
