Resolution

117th Czech Rectors Conference Plenum Meeting

České Budějovice, 6 September 2012 PDF

The Plenum of the Czech Rectors Conference (CRC) adopted at its 117th Meeting following resolution:

  1. CRC welcomes the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports information about the effort to stop in 2013 several years lasting decline of higher education funding.
  2. CRC reminds the Czech Republic Government its intention to devote to the higher education funding the amount of money equal to 1% of GDP, which would still be below the average within the European Union. In recent years, the share of expenditure on higher education in the Czech Republic was around 0.6% of GDP only. Concerning funds per student, the situation is even worse.
  3. CRC welcomes steps of the new leadership of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports leading to its more efficient role in the administration of projects financed from the EU structural funds, but again draws particular attention to some of missing methodologies and useless barriers to the implementation of projects.
