The Plenum of the Czech Rectors Conference (CRC) adopted at its 115th Meeting following resolution:
- CRC repeatedly warns against further fierce reduction of the contribution from the state budget for public higher education institutions scheduled for incoming years which will lead to a decrease by tens of percent. The Czech Republic becomes the state which devotes to higher education less than 0.5% of GDP! CRC finds such approach liquidating, apparently oriented against the Czech higher education quality and to the detriment of the Czech Republic competitiveness.
- CRC considers the further reduction of the average funding per university student unacceptable.
- CRC appeals on the Czech Republic Government to support the concentration of future interventions in education, research and development areas in one operational program under the responsibility of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and to avoid the fragmentation of the support of these areas into operational programs under the responsibility of other resorts. CRC recommends the support of such operational program to be usable throughout the Czech Republic as a whole.
